Need Talented Class Members

It is going to take a lot of effort and talent from our class members to create an enjoyable and exciting journey to our 25th year reunion. We are looking for classmates who know how to design websites, plan events, find other classmates, and so on to make this happen.

Come on! I know you are busy, you are working, made lots of new friends, and perhaps, have your own family now. But it would be great to get connected to you again. Contact us and get involved in our efforts to support Hampton University become even greater than it is. Use the "comment" tab to send any information you would like to share.

Looking For The HU Class of 1986!

Hard to believe that it's been 20 years since we graduated from our "home by the sea," and it's been THAT long since many of us last saw each other. Just think about it, Ronald Reagan was President and another Bush ("41" that is) was still VP back then. In the spring of '86, Prince & The Revolution came out with "Kiss" but Whitney Houston claimed the top spot on the charts in May with "Greatest Love of All," while Janet Jackson asked "What Have You Done for Me Lately?" and Patti Labelle & Michael McDonald hooked up for "On My Own." A few weeks before we walked across the stage, many of us watched in horror as the space shuttle Challenger exploded after launch and we also cheered when Desmond Tutu was elected archbishop of South Africa. It all seems so long ago now . . . back in the day!

During our 20-year class reunion this past spring the class organized a reunion committee to begin planning for the next class reunion. And believe it or not, our reunion committee -- a great team headed by Nancy M. Cline (http://us.f537.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=nancymcline@yahoo.com, formerly Nancy Johnson) -- has already made preliminary plans for our 25-year class reunion in 2011! (It'll be here before you know it!) I have volunteered to be the chairman of the membership committee and will be attempting to locate and reach out to as many of our classmates as possible. YOU CAN HELP by sending me any contact information (especially email addresses) for other class members. The reunion committee has many exciting and ambitious plans for our next big reunion, as well as some new and fun stuff in the lead-up to the reunion (i.e., Class Website and blog, "Where are they now?" features, fund-raisers, regional get-togethers, etc. -- you'll be learning more about these later!). One of our main goals is to communicate information to as many of our classmates as possible during the reunion planning process and to keep in touch with each other between reunions. PLEASE HELP! Just take a few minutes and send me any email addresses that you have for other class members . . . the more contact information you can send, the better! This could be the start of something great. Come on, let's keep this thing going!

Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

Our 25th Class Reunion

The year 2011 is our 25th class reunion. Are you ready? Let's get started!!!!!

A few of us
have gotten together to prepare for our 25th Class Reunion at our Home By the Sea.
We want to see you there and need your help to prepare. You have to know that with the great time we will have during our reunion, that we have a great purpose. That greater purpose is to enhance the endeavors of our alma mater. Hampton is in the process of building a $10 million dining facility on the waterfront. Can you imagine? On our campus students, parents, and you can enjoy a great meal while viewing the waterfront!!!!!! You can be a part of making that happen by helping your classmates raise $100,000 to present at the alumni banquet in 2011.

We need you!!!!! Yes, anyone who considers him/herself a member of Hampton University's Class of 1986.
You are in the right spot to reconnect to classmates with whom you have lost contact, to stay abreast of events and activities for the Class of '86, make financial pledges for the year 2011, and to be a part of preparing for the reunion in 2011.
